"Someday, after mastering the winds, the waves, the tides and gravity, we shall harness for God the energies of love, and then, for a second time in the history of the world, man will have discovered fire. " Teilhard de Chardin

Pterois miles (family: Pteroinae; common name: Devil Firefish)

The Devil firefish is one of the most striking creatures of tropical waters. Very few things are more breathtaking than this fish, majestically swimming in the sea, confident and unafraid of anything - humans included. The fish is not afraid to come close to the photographers or frightened by the flash. All photos taken at Saint John point in the Red Sea in March 2008 during my dives there.
